Dr. Sheri Schmidt has been part of the Buttercup Creek Veterinary family since 1997!
She grew up in Moline, Illinois, and attended the University of Iowa, earning a BS in Biology. While at the University of Iowa, she met her future husband and after graduation, they moved to Texas. She applied and was accepted to the Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1997.
Dr. Schmidt enjoys getting to know owners and their pets on a personal basis and treats every pet as if it was her own. She loves meeting puppies and kittens but also loves working with senior pets to help improve their senior years. She especially enjoys dentistry and has completed several advanced dentistry courses and enjoys internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Schmidt is married and has 2 sons who keep her very busy. She has also been a host mom to several foreign exchange students. Her family currently includes 2 rescue dogs. Churro, a Tibetan Spaniel mix, adopted from the Bastrop Animal Shelter and Pedro, a Pug mix, adopted from the Central Texas SPCA. When she is not working, she enjoys being out in nature, being active in church, and reading.
